Statement from the Clerk
It is the Clerk’s mission to provide the citizens with the highest customer service while keeping the highest standard in recordation and retention of the Court’s Records. The Clerk’s vision has been the modernization of judicial administration and court services through technology which will enable the office to improve efficiencies and provide improved customer service and satisfaction.
Since being elected as the Clerk, the Office has accomplished many of its goals that include; 100% digitized land records, online access to land records, electronic recordation of land records, electronic civil and criminal files, electronic certification and mailing of court orders, installation of audio/visual equipment in the courtroom for pretrial video hearings, utilization of a probate database for more efficient estate qualifications, preservation of over 30 deed books from the 1800s, reformatting of historical documents and the creation of an informative website. The Clerk has been appointed to and chaired on numerous committees with the Supreme Court of Virginia and the Circuit Court Clerk’s Association. This involvement has allowed the Clerk the opportunity to share and fully realize his vision for the office and its citizens through collaboration and partnerships with all stakeholders.
