Appomattox River Soil & Water Conservation District

The Appomattox River Soil & Water Conservation District serves the County of Dinwiddie and the City of Petersburg. It was created as a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia in 1976. The Board is comprised of two elected directors from Dinwiddie, two from Petersburg, and two who are appointed every four years. The staff consists of a Conservation Specialist and an Administrative Secretary/Treasurer.

 

MISSION STATEMENT

 To provide leadership and promote the conservation of natural resources through stewardship and educational programs in the County of Dinwiddie and City of Petersburg.

VISION STATEMENT

To conserve natural resources for future generations through education and technical assistance to the urban, rural, and suburban communities which make up the District.
