Any accessory structure over 150 square feet requires a permit; carports and sheds, for example.

Is a permit required for porches and decks?

Any addition to a structure, regardless of size, requires a permit.

Do fences require a building permit?

No.

Are building permits required for "farm use" structures?

No, building permits are not required but you must get approval from Planning and Zoning.

Does my building permit expire?

Permits are good for 6 months.  If you have an inspection during that time, they automatically renew.
