Division of Fire & EMS: Responsibility
The Public Safety Office is responsible for emergency services throughout the county. Fire and rescue services are provided by six (6) fire companies and one (1) rescue squad staffed by volunteers, and two (2) rescue squads staffed by county personnel. Training in various aspects of Emergency Services is offered on a regular basis. Classes are open to emergency services professionals and volunteers, as well as members of the general public.
