Planning Commission
The Dinwiddie County Planning Commission is established under the authority of the Code of Virginia to make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors of Dinwiddie County and to assist the Board of Supervisors and County staff in the administration of the Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances, the Comprehensive Plan, and with other policies and matters affecting the general welfare, development and growth of the County.
There are seven members of the Commission, each appointed by the Board of Supervisors of Dinwiddie County to serve a four year term
The Planning Commission meets every second Wednesday of the month, with Work Sessions beginning at 6:00 P.M. and Public Hearings beginning at 7:00 P.M. Planning Commisioners
Board of Zoning appeals
A Board of Zoning Appeals consisting of five members shall be appointed by the circuit court of the county. The Board of Zoning Appeals may authorize variances from the terms of the zoning ordinance, hear appeals to decisions made in an administrative capacity, and resolve zoning district boundary line discrepancies. The Board of Zoning Appeals’ meetings are held every other month, on the third Thursday of the month, beginning at 7:00 P.M. There are a total of six meetings per year. Members of the BZA
