Working With You to Keep Dinwiddie Clean

The Waste Management department is responsible for the collection and disposal of solid waste in the County through the following:

  • Manned Convenience Centers and dumpsters for household waste and recycling at no charge to County residents and property owners.
  • Recycling available for clothing/shoes; paper/cardboard; plastics; metals/appliances; electronics; waste oil; tires.
  • Commercial waste disposal available only at the Wheelers Pond site for a fee of $35/ton.
  • Hazardous materials disposal sponsored annually by the Extension Service.
  • Contracted waste disposal services from the manned sites and dumpsters through an outside vendor.

The County is currently looking for additional manned site locations in the Reams/Halifax Rd area and the Ford area of the County.  Please contact the Waste Management office if you have available land in these areas.
