Waste Management

General Information

Dinwiddie County encourages recycling and offers residential waste disposal services to County residents at no charge. Manned convenience centers and dumpster sites are located throughout the County for disposal of recyclables and household waste.

County generated construction debris and commercial waste disposal is only available at the main convenience center on Wheeler's Pond Road for a fee of $45/ton. Payment may be made on site by check or by credit card for a 3% convenience fee. Nonpayment of disposal fees will result in refusal to accept future commercial debris. The Convenience Center does not accept trailer loads, all trailer loads must go to the Main landfill on Wheelers Pond Rd.

Hazardous materials are not accepted by Waste Management, but an annual disposal event is sponsored by the County’s Cooperative Extension Services. For more information, call (804) 469-4545.

Please help keep Dinwiddie clean by reporting illegal dumping to the Sheriff’s Office at (804) 469-4550.
